Susan Yeaman Deal
Susan is an accomplished rider and instructor who has taught hunter seat equitation at Sweet Briar College, St. Andrews College, Eagle’s Nest Camp, and elsewhere. The summer camp is a natural outgrowth of her interest in and love of children and horses. Susan teaches lessons year-round, takes students to shows and riding to hounds.
In 2005 Susan won the North American Field Hunter Championships on Penn Park, in
2008 she was recognized by the USHJA (United States Hunter Jumper Association)
with an affiliate instructor's award. She also sits on the board of the
ANRC ( American National Riding Commission). Kris Deal At Eagle’s Nest Camp in NC, Kris spent many summers as White-water Canoe Director. Kris earned his BA in English at St. Andrews College, where he also serves on the Alumni Council. He received an M.Ed. in English Education at Lynchburg College and teaches at Highland School in Warrenton, VA.
